ROTARY DISTRICT 6880 DISASTER RELIEF INITIATIVE

The strategy of the Rotary District 6880 Disaster Relief (DR) initiative is to focus on the “relief” phase which follows a disaster and to stay clear of the response and recovery efforts of professional “first responders”.

What can we do as a Rotary District to help reduce the suffering of those impacted by disaster? The Rotary District 6880 disaster relief initiatives cannot be a cure-all for the disaster event needs but can be an important piece of the puzzle in reducing suffering and helping the affected community.

Each disaster event should have its own unique conditions and needs. There are many response agencies and individuals that respond to different phases of the disaster event and proper interaction is important to the District response.

The District should be supportive of local Rotary Club disaster response efforts.
